Associate Commissioner

Under the general direction of the Deputy Commissioner for Child Welfare and Community Services, the Associate Commissioner provides administrative and managerial leadership for the Bureau of Permanency Services, the Bureau of Program and Community Development, the Bureau of Domestic Violence and Prevention Services, and the Bureau of Adult Services. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
o Improves the internal management and operations of the office including the assignment of resources, establishment of priorities and timeframes for special workgroups and responsibilities as necessary. Coordinates the activities of the assigned bureaus with all over Division offices. o Coordinates with other state agencies, local social service delivery systems, and the federal government as designated by the Deputy Commissioner, to provide for the most effective and efficient use of resources and the highest achievable outcomes for children and families. o Coordinates special projects and assignments at the direction of the Deputy Commissioner; advises the Deputy regarding program/management needs and priorities, strategies and tactics for achieving the Division's goals. o Reviews the issuance of all regulations, program standards and administrative guidelines which are applicable to the various units within the assigned bureaus that are sent to local districts. o Develops policy recommendations on issues which impact on the promulgation of standards and the consistent application of those standards. o Supports staff in the use of techniques which ensure client, customer and district input and participation in the development of policies and programs. o Oversees the administration of the various programs and funding streams for each of the programs under the span of supervision. o Provides Deputy Commissioner with appropriate information/reports to monitor and guide the operation of the Office in an efficient and effective manner; information will identify areas where additional support may be needed. o As a member of the CWCS Senior Team, is responsible for working closely with the team of CWCS senior staff to promote a positive work environment, a strong work ethic and open communication within the Division that will aid in improving outcomes for children, youth, families and vulnerable adults.

Salary Range:
From $129566 to $163695 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience a in child welfare or child abuse prevention or equivalent experience.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
