Administrative Assistant 1/Trainee - Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessability

Provide administrative services and logistical and operational support for the Chief Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (ODEIA) Officer and ODEIA staff. Monitor ODEIA email box and review incoming correspondence and draft responses where appropriate. Draft ODEIA correspondence and review for tone, accuracy, grammar, spelling, etc. Coordinate information flow by acting as liaison among key executives, staff, other employees, and the public. Coordinate and arrange meetings. Arrange for meetings, including room reservations, agendas, web registration, accessibility features, etc. Take notes at ODEIA and subcommittee meetings. Provide pre- and post-meeting follow-up communications and resources. Handle telephone calls and inquiries, assist visitors, and respond to questions directed to ODEIA. Provide empathic and stellar customer service. Establish office procedures. Set up and maintain office filing systems (including electronic). Resolve day-to-day operational problems. Assist in logistical and operational tasks for events (in-person and virtual). Participate in ODEIA subcommittees and activities as an OCFS employee and thought partner. Serve as ODEIA representative in meetings, when/if/as appropriate. Uphold values and principles of ODEIA and a social justice framework. Additional duties discussed during interview.

Salary Range:
From $38073 to $55093 Annually
Minimum Qualification
One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 70.1 transfer; AND successful completion of the four core administrative support courses AND completion of four elective administrative support courses, as designated by the agency. Proof of passing a keyboarding test will be required for those who have not previously served in a keyboarding title or have not yet taken a keyboarding test. A two-year traineeship (Administrative Assistant Trainee 1 & 2 NS= Grade 8 and 10 and leading to Administrative Assistant 1, Grade 11) is available. Trainees will be required to take four mandatory courses the first year of the traineeship and four elective courses in the second year of the traineeship in four competency areas through the CSEA Partnership, or equivalent offerings through another entity as determined by the agency. All trainees are required to successfully complete all courses before advancing to the Administrative Assistant 1, G-11. This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
