Job
Summary:

The Truck Driver should be well-organized and transport liquid asphalt, emulsion, liquid calcium chloride, stone, blacktop and equipment in a safe and responsible manner. This position will require the driver to be able to operate numerous types of vehicles and equipment.


Essential Functions:

  1. Protect family and friends. Operate and maintain Class A vehicles, including dump trucks, tractor-trailers, and other specialized equipment, in a safe and responsible manner.
  2. Focused. Transport asphalt materials, equipment, and supplies to designated job sites according to project schedules and specifications.
  3. Safety always wins. Safely load and unload materials, ensuring proper securement and adherence to transportation regulations.
  4. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify and address any maintenance or safety issues.
  5. Honesty and truth. Adhere to all applicable traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while operating vehicles on public roads and job sites.
  6. Respect and engage. Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of materials.
  7. Measurement. Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery activities as required.


Requirements, Education and
Experience:

1. Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record. Hazmat and Tanker endorsement required.

2. Minimum of 2 years of experience operating Class A vehicles, preferably in the construction or paving industry.

3. Knowledge of asphalt materials and paving operations is highly desirable.

4. Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety protocols.

5. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members and supervisors.

6. Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

7. Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.

8. Willingness to undergo drug screenings and background checks as required.

9. Authorized to work in the U.S.

Travel:

Position may require up to 100% travel by personal vehicle to offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 50 lb. or more. This position works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, pulling, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion. On occasion the job will require going out in the field and various plants and quarries.
